COSMIC BRIDE

During North Sea Round Town (July 2025), Cosmic Bride premiered her new work Hidden Gem in the Netherlands for the first time — a piece developed during her SANE residency in Leipzig. Voice, harp, vibraphone, and electronics merge into an immersive experience inspired by the polymetallic tuber ship that recently appeared in the port of Rotterdam. Hidden Gem explores the relationship between human technology and ecological vulnerability, unfolding within the monumental acoustics of the Laurenskerk. The performance invited listeners to surrender to sounds that were as poetic as they were confrontational.
The collaboration centred on the design and realisation of a spatial audio performance system tailored specifically for Cosmic Bride’s new body of work. I provided both artistic and technical guidance throughout this process, focusing on spatialization techniques, DAW integration, and the development of an immersive surround sound setup for her live performances. For the premiere at Laurenskerk, I was responsible for building the 8.1. spatial sound system and live sound engineering.
